UV400 means the lens blocks 100% of UVA and UVB rays. A polarized lens additionally cuts reflected glare — from water, snow or a wet road.

What is a category 3 lens?

It refers to the tint level: a category 3 lens absorbs roughly 80% of light and is the standard choice for sunny weather — in the city, at the seaside or in the mountains.

Are they suitable for driving?

Yes, category 3 works well for daytime driving, and polarized lenses also remove glare reflected off the road. Driving at night in sunglasses is not recommended.
